You like the idea of a website.  You know it will help your business.  You know it will provide value to your clients and leads.  You know it will generate new leads.  You know it is the best way to start marketing yourself on the internet.

As you think about it more and as you do more research, you begin to see other ways to market yourself.  You learn about blogging and you have ideas for a hundred articles that you want to write.  You learn about social media and you want to set up accounts on every form of social media.  You learn about branding, and you start sketching out a logo and coming up with slogans.  You learn about Facebook ads and Google ads, and you think about how much you can budget for those.  You learn about landing pages, and know that they can help convert leads.

You want to market yourself well, so you want to do it all.

Then you get overwhelmed just thinking of where to start.  And you end up doing nothing.  You went from being excited about everything to utter stagnation.

Marketing yourself online doesn’t have to be complicated.  It shouldn’t overwhelm you.

You can avoid getting overwhelmed by starting your marketing slowly.

Start with one or two strategies.  Get good at them.  Get a process.  When you are competent, then add another tool to your toolkit.  You will be way ahead of other Realtors in your market sooner than you think.

One idea is to get a website, then start with a simple blog.  Then set up your Facebook page, and interact with people on Facebook.  Promote your website on Facebook, and promote Facebook on your website.  Get comfortable with that process, and then add something new.
